After 37 years with Schlumberger, I retire from a worldwide position responsible for placing Schlumberger equipment packages on new build and existing offshore drilling rigs around the world using contacts and relationships developed over the last 20 years while assigned to the offshore drilling contractors worldwide.

Win rate for equipment placements was >50% through the most recent offshore rig build cycle, helping position SLB as the largest offshore cementing company by footprint worldwide. Achieved through working with a motivated team, industry relationships, innovative equipment strategies, and bold commercial ‘deals’.

Support sales and installation of Pressure Pumping, Solids Control, Pressure Control, D&M & Wireline equipment, and services worldwide in the offshore drilling environment.

Support Offshore Pressure Pumping product line (Cementing) in the installation of high pressure pumping equipment on deepwater and Jackup offshore drilling rigs worldwide.

Use contacts and relationships to introduce other product lines in Schlumberger to opportunities on new build and existing offshore rigs at shipyards/rig owners.

Placed over 150 (+50% of rigs during build cycle) cementing units on new build offshore rigs boosting offshore cementing revenues over $75m per year.

As the holder of the relationship between Schlumberger and offshore drilling contractors worldwide, it was my responsibility to maintain high-level relationships at a senior management level within the worldwide drilling contractor community.

As Business Development Manager for Drilling Contractors, my primary focus was to go to Singapore and set up & manage the Offshore Placement business.

As the BDM for drilling contractors & shipyards I was the holder of the relationship between Schlumberger Operations, Manufacturing, Customers & Offshore Rig Owners, and shipyards. Also overseeing the placement of Pressure Pumping & various SLB equipment on offshore drilling rigs as they were under construction around the world.

Trained and developed installation teams and supervisors to be assigned clients and shipyards for equipment placements on rigs.

Responsible for service quality for all Turnkey clients in the Gulf of Mexico on offshore rigs including pumping & job execution, maintenance, ordering of all job products, chemicals, and spare parts. Training and competency for offshore cementing supervisors.

Turnkey Drillers & Drilling Contractors

 Responsible for all operations for Turnkey Clients (ADTI, Cliffs Turnkey, Triton) and Offshore Drilling Contractors in the Gulf of Mexico (US & Mexico).

Oversee operations, Pumping, Financial, HSE & Service Quality reasonabilities for all GOM Turnkey clients and drilling contractors.

Turned the offshore Turnkey business around from cementing on 4 rigs to 16 rigs and raising revenues from $12m per year to excess of $40m per year.

Removed over 40 cement unit equipment packages of the competition on active offshore rigs and replaced them with SLB cementing packages for Turnkey Clients and Drilling Contractors.
